Champions league nights are back at Old Trafford and it was rather very easy outing for the reds.
United started with Dorgu on left back replacing the injured Luke Shaw. Martinez and Yoro held down the defence while Mazraoui was at right back. Mainoo and Tielemans were in the middle of the park with Bruno orchestrating the attack, while Cunha and Mbuemo played the wings both playing their first game in UCL. Šeško started up front, in his first European night for United.
The afternoon started slow with United having most of the possession but Sabah didn’t show signs of breaking down. The first 25 minutes went mellow with Sabah having a couple of runs from the right wing at the united back line. With both teams seemingly sizing each other the first goal came after a mis pass from the visitors resulted in Mbuemo driving forward and passing to Bruno just outside the box. Captain passed to Dorgu on the left who put it on a plate for Cunha to finish for United’s first.
Second and third goal for the home side came in quick succession. A late run into the box from Tielemans saw him get the pass from Cunha and making a turn to set up Bruno for the second. Just three minutes later a fast counter attack saw Mbuemo’s through ball taken cleanlyŠeško before going around the keeper and passing it into the net with ease.
Second half started with Mount replacing Tielemans. United made all allowed changes bringing in Zirkzee, Harry Amass, Shea Lacey, and Andrey Santos. Fourth goal scoredMartinez came after a scuffle inside the box and keeper failing to clear the ball.
After the fourth, it was all easy for United just keeping the ball for the rest of the night.
