The Customary Manchester United Rant: Edition 2026/27

If ‘The Purge’ happened in between the game between Manchester United and Bournemouth on the 25th of October, the director’s box would be the worst place to be. In that dystopian evening at Old Trafford, the entire Manchester United fanbase will be going for just that one cozy spot in the entire stadium.

The sole fact that the only attacking threat for United in that game was Diogo Dalot of all people, tells you how the club is in the deepest end of the hellhole that still goes deeper every season. Ayden Heaven was the best player for Bournemouth, according the visitor’s commentator, and how can we blame them for saying the truth. The first goal scored by Rayan for the away side- you’ll never see such a defensive disaster in a casual kickabout between schoolkids.

The entire game, the crowd was chanting against the hierarchy at United. Once the ordeal was over, they were singing in support of Carrick and then booed as the players were going to the tunnel. The entire atmosphere inside the stadium was depressing to say the least. Why would someone in their right mind will still turn up to the game, knowing that their club will be taken to the cleaners? Because its a virus they willingly ingested when they were young or their dad’s injected into their brains – at the stadium or while sitting in front of their Telly.

Here is something less cliched. I am effing 30 years old and lost the drive to do anything. If they’ll take me, I would go to the Carrington training ground, leave every single ounce of my energy on that field and show an ounce of respect for that badge. Now imagine players who get the best facilities, diet plans, recovery treatments, and loads of quid, just to train and play the goddamn game of grown ass men kicking a ball into the goal. Is that too much to ask for?

For the fans who go to the stadium to watch the games- stop it. You being there, buying them tickets is why the owners are getting money. They are already moving forward with building a new stadium. When that stadium is finished, it will be the only stadium in the Championship or possibly League One that can hold 100,000 people. Yaay!

The owners are banking on the Manchester United brand. They know that even if they take more and more, there will still be gold left in the coffers to fund their personal interests. People need to be on the streets

Every 12-24 months United fans go through this. It’s the prophecy repeating itself. A manager comes in, the club makes some big money purchases, they flop, the team is in a relegation spot, the media grills the manager, who speaks about how rotten the system is and then gets sacked. Some of the gaffers do not even reach that point of outburst. Some like Carrick, a United legend, and most importantly an Englishman don’t face same level of media attack like an Amorim or a Rangnick.

At the time of writing this tragedy, Carrick hasn’t been sacked yet. It’s been 24 hours since the horror show against Bournemouth. Carrick is at Carrington, the clubs training facility attending a crisis talk with Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox. Within a few hours there will an official announcement. Even if they decide to give him more chances, I think he should step down. It’s clear from the last two games that he has lost the dressing room.

Now let me get back to watching one of the bajillion videos saying why Mourinho/Rangnick/Cristiano/ten Hag/Amorim was right about Manchester United.
