But the recent seasons have given nothing but heartbreak to the faithful from Kerala. The team has ended up in the bottom half of the table on multiple occasions. This season started with a defeat against arch-rivals ATK Mohun Bagan. They had to wait for Hyderabad FC to get the first three points on board.

The Spaniard was hit with the news of his mother’s demise during the previous game but decided to stay with the team rather than going back home. Being the manager of a club with a demanding fanbase is hard. The pressure can either harm you or push you to work hard. The team had problems in their opening few matches but Kibu made sure his side improved every day they went on to the pitch.
